Google SEO Hints
An API-friendly alternative to the manual Rich Results Test service.
Google provides detailed documentation about the structured data that they support and recommend for web sites. The official method for testing structured data is the Rich Results Test, which can manually test local code or live pages; and then the Search Console helps monitor data quality on live, indexed web sites.
As a complement to the official resources, our validation offers a programmatic solution for detecting data issues before publishing and has proven valuable for maintaining high-quality structured data.
- Playground — enable the Google SEO Hints option from the Settings dialog.
- API & CLI — include the
service=google-seo-hintsparameter in your request.
We do our best to maintain accurate and up-to-date validation guidelines, but, as always, only Google can determine the eligibility of data for their indices and results.
Audit Messages
Similar to the Rich Results Test, as we validate your structured data, we annotate items or their properties with the following kinds of messages.
- Qualified Feature — a resource meets requirements for a documented feature.
- Missing Required Data — an error typically blocking eligibility of a feature.
- Missing Recommended Data — a warning which strongly recommends adding a property.
